Performance Products

Welding to the Barrel

When installing a Stainless Cannon or Universal Muffler, refrain from welding support mounts directly to the muffler. This type of fitment practise will void warranty.

We recommend you install a barrel ring and mount support brackets from the barrel ring. See our range of barrel rings and rods.

Weld Slag

When welding in or around the Stainless Steel Cannon, Universal Muffler or Tip avoid weld splatter from hitting the product as it will rust and look unsightly. We recommend you use an anti-spatter spray.

Noise and Emission Levels

When fitting any Performance product, it is the obligation of the fitment centre to ensure the vehicle meets with the Australian states or territory requirements for noise and emissions levels.

WARRANTY / MANUFACTURERS STATEMENT

BTA Towing Equipment - 6 Brand Road, Knoxfield VIC 3180

BTA Towing Equipment Warranty Statement

BTA Towbars are designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of Australian Design Rule 62-00.

Boronia Towbars are sold with a lifetime replacement warranty provided that the towbar/hitch receiver has not been misused or overloaded and is used for towing purposes only.

Boronia Towbars can be used in conjunction with 80kg and 120kg level rides as long as the tow ball load is not exceeded. Weight distribution is approved for use in conjunction with most BTA class 4 hitches, however there are certain hitches that are not suitable.

Please refer to distributor/manufacturer for further details.

BTA Towbar Manufacturers Statement

All tow ball weights listed in the Boronia Towbars catalogue are gained by using the standard tow ball mount.

The only way to obtain 10% of a class 4 towbars’ rated towing capacity on the tow ball, is by using a weight distribution hitch.

Boronia Towbars recommend in the case of increased tow ball loads, the advice of a suspension expert should be sought, as the heavier load could impact negatively on the standard suspension of the motor vehicle. In some cases, upgrading the rear suspension could also reduce the need for a weight distribution hitch, as standard (90kg or 120kg) level rides may be a suitable replacement.

Before towing always refer to the vehicle manufacturers’ specifications as tow ratings and tow ball loads can vary.

*† A Certified engineer is required to weld custom fitted towbars to be authorised as compliant.
